"Never!" Katie said, happily, linking her arm through his. "You're the one who taught me how key the element of surprise is." She gave him another smacking kiss on the cheek and dropped her head to his shoulder, smiling at the person he was talking to. She listened to them for a moment, waving goodbye before turning her attention to George.
"You're right you know," she said, enjoying having her best friend around. Katie's friendships were, possibly, the most important thing to her. They were right up there with Quidditch. Her family life was less then stellar and parents who were only interested in their own lives... well... it made her happy to have people in her life who made her feel like she had an interested family and George had always been one of those people. He and Fred had taken her under their wing at school and she'd instantly been brought into the fold. No questions asked.
"How's everything? How's your brother? I heard about him and Fleur," she said, shaking her head. That was an unexpected decision. "Rumor mill is going at full speed over that. What's Molly saying?" She couldn't imagine what Molly and Arthur were thinking. They had to be horrified.
