Marietta wanted nothing more than to leave. Katherine reminded her of her own mother and that was never a good thing. Instead, Marietta straighten her spine and met Katherine's gaze straight on. "Marietta Edgecombe," she said with a polite smile. "I am pleased to make your acquaintance." She shook Katherine's hand lightly. "Have you spent much time in Italy? My father's family has a lovely villa outside of Cinque Terre. I'm not able to get away much to visit, but it's beautiful."
Marietta knew how this game was played. Purebloods only cared about how much wealth you had, your lineage and your looks. It was disgusting and the more she was around this world, the less she wanted to be in it.
