Lexi would be lying if she said she wasn't just a little disappointed that this evening had arrived. She'd enjoyed having Clint back in England and this Gala meant he'd be going back to France soon enough as Nationals truly got under way. It wasn't that she'd never seen him, she just preferred waking up beside him rather than an empty bed. Still, it was just a few weeks. She was sure she could manage well enough. She did have Boo and Cat to keep her company, which wasn't so bad now that Cat had moved into irritable acceptance of Boo's presence. The fact that the behaviors of their pets was the highlight of her evenings alone was not lost on her. She clearly needed a hobby.
She did, however, have to thank Emma when she spotted her. It had never been so easy to get ready for one of these events and she had to admit that the other woman had been right about tailor made gowns. She really shouldn't have been surprised. This was Emma, after all. The black dress Emma had had made for her, fit perfectly, accenting what curves she had without making her feel like she was on display. The fabric fell around her without much fuss and she hadn't had to fiddle with it all evening. Everything stayed where it was suppose to. The hardest part of the evening had been taming her hair, which really wasn't all that difficult. Rather than trying to get all of it to stay up, she'd simply smoothed out her natural curls in something very Veronica Lake. She figured Emma would appreciate the more classy look with the dress. Gradually, Lexi was learning the ins and outs of this female fashion business. Thanks, mostly, to Emma sheer insistence.
There weren't many faces she immediately recognized, but this wasn't exactly a celebration of all things Cursed and Dangerous. Needless to say, she wasn't all that surprised. Some where slightly familiar, like Falcon team members and even a couple Puddlemere players, but for the most part she simply let Clint do his thing as she kept her eye out for the others.
