Who: Bill Weasley and Audrey
When: Friday, February 14th
Where: Hogsmeade
What: Bad Timing, Full Moon and a Secret Revealed
Bill was running late. He'd been held up at Gringotts by his boss and by the time he arrived at Hogsmeade, the sun was sinking quickly towards the horizon. There was a bottle of wolfsbane in his jacket pocket and Bill was hurrying towards The Shrieking Shack. Ever since it happened, Bill had been going there for the moons. It was just.. obvious. Or maybe it required the least bit of thought.
Regardless, Bill was on his way to the shack. The moon was rapidly rising and he could feel his bones start to ache. The snow crunched under his boots as Bill pushed through the village. The winter chill cut at him, blowing his hair about. He had nearly made it through the village when the door to a home opened and spilled soft yellow light onto the white ground.
"Bill," exclaimed a cheerful voice as Audrey stepped out of a house. "What are you doing up here this time of day?" The pretty young witch smiled happily at Bill as she shut the door behind her and stepped closer.
Fuck. Bill's eyes flicked up to the sky. The sun was all but gone and he only had a few minutes to get away from anyone her might hurt. "Audrey. Hello." And with that Bill kept walking, making long strides away from the village. The orange light of the sun was fading quickly. He should be running, but he didn't want Audrey to turn around and tell the family that he ran away from her. That might raise a few eyebrows.
For her part, Audrey didn't take the hint. She fell in line next to Bill, matching his pace easily. "I haven't seen you in awhile," she said cheerfully. "How are you? How are Fleur and the babies? I've been meaning to come and say hello, but I've been so busy with everything that I just haven't had a chance."
"Audrey," Bill said with an annoyed sigh. "It's nice to see you, but I really want to be alone right now, okay?" He could feel the change coming. Bill reached into his pocket, having to risk taking the potion in front of her or it would be too late. "Please, just go away." His tone changed, almost pleading with her to leave. Audrey only heard a person who needed help. She stepped closer, putting her hand on his arm. "Bill, are you alright?"
And then, it was too late. Bill felt the first silver of moonlight break across the sky and he stumbled backwards. "Audrey," he said with a groan. "Run." The bottle of wolfsbane from from his hand, breaking as it hit the ground and Bill tore at his clothes, ripping them off as his bones began to change, growing longer. His red hair grew thicker, covering his freckled skin. Bill's eyes changed, narrowing and sharpening in the dim light. His fingers lengthened, sharp claws growing where his nails once were. There was just a shred of Bill left when he looked up at Audrey and the full moon appeared fully in the night sky.
And then, he blinked. Bill blinked his eyes and he was no longer Bill. He was a werewolf. Fully changed, growling and angry. He paused, breathing sharply from the sudden transformation from man to beast. Audrey screamed loudly and drew the werewolf's attention to her. The creature reached out with its claws, slashing at the witch. It threw its head back and howled, loud enough for all the residents of Hogsmeade to hear.
The wolf leaped towards the witch, but she vanished from his sight. Landing hard on the ground next to a pile of clothing and a broken bottle, the wolf stood up, confused. His confusion didn't last long and the wolf sprinted into the forest, running in search of something to eat.
