She pouted briefly when he went to move her off of him, but it lasted only a moment before changing to a curious frown as he moved to the dresser. She blinked in surprise when he tossed something at her. Catching it, she glanced down at the object in her hands, slow realization clicking into place as she realized what it was he'd just given her. She didn't know why it was such a surprise. He'd already asked her to marry him, a ring was pretty much expected.
Her eyes darted back to him when he spoke, still lost as to what to say. It didn't seem to matter, however, as he stripped and moved out of her sight and into the bathroom. A naked Clint was not something Lexi just let slip by her. If he was naked, she was taking full advantage of it, but this time she couldn't seem to take her eyes off the small ox in her hands. Flipping it open, she blinked down at the ring inside. It was simple, but stunning. She couldn't have picked a better one herself and that made her heart swell and she laughed. Clint knew her better than anyone.
Setting the ring on the night stand, she moved to the closet and pulled on some clothing. Her thoughts kept drifting back toward the ring she'd left sitting on her nightstand. Clint should put it on, right? Wasn't that the way it worked? Frowning, she twisted her hair up and tied it off, her eyes turning back to the ring. He did toss it to her, maybe that meant that she could just put it on.
Giving in, Lexi crawled across the bed to snatch the box off the stand. Taking it carefully out of the box, she studied it. It really was beautiful. Setting the box down, she slipped the ring onto her finger, not at all surprised when it seemed to fit just right. She was still staring down at it when Clint came back from his shower. His question drew her out of her thoughts and she smiled, holding up her hand so he could see that she was wearing it.
Doing the best to ignore the fact that he was in nothing but a loose towel, Lexi stood. Taking a few quick steps across the still unmade bed, she hoped off, wrapping her arms around Clint's neck and her legs around his waist. "It's perfect," she smiled, pressing her lips to his in a deep, scorching kiss that spoke of just how much she loved it.
