It was pretty impressive that he could make her feel better just by holding her hand. She was grateful for that. She loved him like crazy and his assurance that he loved her enough to stay was made some of the doubt lift, but whether or not it would be enough to remove the deep-seated doubt she'd been carrying with her for years was yet to be determined. It was hard to let go of something you'd ingrained so deeply into yourself. She was under no illusion as to who was responsible for it. She'd done to herself instead of dealing with what had happened. It had been easier at the time to just distance herself from it. It wasn't such an easy thing to deal with now.
He wasn't the first person who had told her that she needed to talk to a mind-healer. He'd said "someone" but she knew who it was he had in mind. She had been forced to see one when the problem was fresh, but it had lasted only so long as she was underage. The moment she could, she pulled out, as there was no longer anyone to force her to face her fears. If she was honest, she didn't want to face them now. Of course, this was Clint asking and there was very little he could ask for that she wouldn't give. "Okay," she nodded, offering him a small smile. Maybe Adrian had some connection at St. Mungo's that she could speak with. Low profile and confidential. She had enough things about her running through the gossip mills. She didn't need to be crazy too.
It wasn't difficult to understand where he was coming from. She doubted it was all that easy to deal with everything that encompassed being with her. Merlin knew there was a lot to deal with. She liked the sound of "life", she had to admit. That was something she could happily look forward to. Moving forward, she pressed her lips to his lightly, letting them linger for a moment. "I'm happy with you." And she was. He was her best friend. There wasn't anyone else she could be happier with.
Sitting back, she was more then ready to let some of the heaviness in the air clear. Now that he was home, it would be nice to have just a normal day with each other. "So," he started, taking a breath, "Note to self. Wake up calls are better with blowjobs and not fire alarms."
