Who: Lavender & Nick
Where: Nick's Flat
What: Coming to say hello.
When: Sunday Afternoon
Rating: Low.
It had been awhile since Lavender had seen Nick. Her life was, surprisingly, getting better. She had two jobs now and enough money to eat real food every day. Her flat looked liveable and Sam wasn't around to steal or burn everything she owed. It'd be brilliant if she was out of Knockturn, but one step at a time. The biggest change was that Lavender wanted to change. She'd been accepting of her lot in life for so long and now, suddenly, she wanted better.
And she suspected Nick was the reason.
It was silly, really. He was so out of her league and beyond her scope that she couldn't even pretend she might have a chance. Lavender wasn't the sort of witch that people brought home to meet their parents. The last relationship she had was with Richard, an unemployed git who was known by hitwizards for being a petty crook.
Nick was everything Lavender use to think made up a good bloke. And even though she couldn't have him as a boyfriend, Lavender could be friends with him until the Cup ended and he returned to France to forget all about her. But, in order to be friends with him, she needed to actually see him.
Magical London wasn't that big and it only took a few well placed questions to find out where Nick lived. So, Sunday afternoon after she'd guzzled down some coffee and nibbled on a scone, Lavender threw on a jumper so big she looked as though she was drowning in it, jeans and her favorite pair of combat boots. Clomping up the stairs in his building and knocked on the door to his flat.
