Emma had a very long day. The Falcons were running her ragged. Last night, she'd ended up at the Hitwizard HQ, bailing out and trying to find a spin for a bar fight that ended up with someone losing their hand. She was beyond exhausted. Still, the air was crisp, Diagon was lovely and tons of kids were running around grabbing candy and talking with their friends. She looked at her nephew, a tiny smile appearing. She loved him.
Halloween was one of her favorite times of year. She loved taking Oscar trick-or-treating. He always made sure they had matching costumes. Last year they'd been Alice and the White Rabbit. This year, Merlin knew why, he'd convinced her to dress as Tinkerbell and he was Peter Pan. She couldn't say no to him. It was quite impossible. '
Kneeling down, she straightening his hat and collar, searching his eyes. Sometimes, she was quite grateful he didn't resemble Beth. He did, however, have her eyes. There were days when his penetrating gaze looked so much like her sister's that she'd stop in her tracks. Brushing his hair off his face, she kissed his cheek, which he promptly wiped off. "Aunt Emma!" he whined, pouting. "People can see."
"If I have to wear this outfit," she said, straightening, gazing down at him with fondness. "Than you have to endure the kissing."
He frowned and rummaged through her bag and handed her a chocolate frog. "Couldn't you just eat this instead?" he asked, blinking his wide eyes at her.
Emma sighed and took the chocolate from him. Her hair was piled loosely on top of her head and she'd managed to keep herself ensconced in a heating charm as her first version of the Tinker Bell costume wasn't 'authentic' enough. The green dress and fluttering wings had delighted Oscar and his little Peter Pan costume had made her state of dress completely worth it. However, She was going to have to talk to Penny about the Disney. "Come on, O," she said, taking his little hand in hers. "We have a few more places to go before it's time to go."
"But Emma-" he started, but quickly stopped at the raised brow from his Aunt. "I guess that's fine." He broke away, and hurried towards WWW.
"O!" she called, but sighed, watching him run smack into the back of a very tall gentleman.
