She broke off teasing for a minute. "Just, try not to rush things, okay? Fix the friendship first, if that's what you want to do." She hoped he did. She liked Justice. Lou even kinda thought they'd make a pretty good couple, but that wasn't for her to say. "Let the rest of it sort itself out. You're not under some new deadline you haven't told me about, are you?"
She was back to gentle teasing. There were defenses of her own she needed up. "Please don't go telling people I can actually be a reasonable human being. It'll ruin my whole reputation." And set people up to be disappointed in her. Gus could be an exception, maybe. He was tough. If she screwed up big time, it wouldn't ruin anything for him. She really didn't want more people than him starting to depend on her.
