No, he was right. It wasn't too far. Lou took a sip of that second beer and tried to compose herself so that she could be fair to him. It wasn't Gus' fault that she believed she had details he wouldn't necessarily have wanted her to have. These things happened sometimes.
There was a little pause where she stopped to give it some thought. She didn't want to just rush into platitudes or something that would come off as insincere.
"It's a tough situation, Gus. You should cut yourself some slack. I mean, look, I don't know a lot of stuff about your personal past, but I see the way your face lights up when you talk about your kids. There's things there that must have happened that a person doesn't heal from quick. And if it's not right to rush into something, then it isn't. Doesn't make you a wuss."
There was a heartbeat of a pause where she felt like she should have stopped, but she didn't. "Hopefully, the other person involved is able to see that; but maybe they're someone who's scarred by stuff too." That was a safe bet, right? "Relationships are hard." She didn't know what had happened beyond the fact that Justice had been without her car and apparently been upset enough to not let Gus call her a cab, but that was enough to tell that something had gone pretty wrong with two people she both wanted to count as friends.
