Lou's shoulders shook with laughter. "You mean you don't already? I'm pretty sure someone somewhere's tried that one at some point. Or maybe that was burping. Isn't that the reason Coca Cola was invented?" She looked up, unfocused at the air slightly beside them as if trying to remember some long-forgotten historical detail.
It made sense that boys should be able to have their secret meetings too. Given how different they were, their meetings were probably held in some unknown language indecipherable to the female mind.
As much as she loved Die Hard, their conversation was even better and held her attention. Gus was an awesome guy. This kind of back and forth banter was the core of life. It made the bad days good and the good days beyond fantastic. To Lou, this was the whole reason for living. It was one of those moments where people could just mess around and be themselves.
