"Yeah, I bet that went over well," Gus laughed and shook his head. Kids did have a way of knowing exactly what buttons to push, and he was privately glad both of his hadn't been the button-pushing type. Like their father, they were generally glad to go along with the flow, "You must've been a delightful teenager."
He started to put unused ingredients and utensils away, not wanting to be doing them later, when he might very well have his buzz on and not feel like tidying up.
"Well, should we shove this bad boy in the oven?" he asked. The Great Salt Mystery would remain just that for now, but they had some Die Hard to watch, and the sooner they popped the cake in the oven? The sooner they'd have cake to eat.
