"So I'm at the supermarket," Gus was happy to launch into the story, since it was still weird. He was pretty sure it would be weird until he found a use for the salt.
It was still unopened.
"I bump into Marion, and she just starts leading me around and putting stuff in my cart," he pointed to the salt, "First thing was that box of salt, from the Valentine's Day endcap. Then a box of Kleenex with Spongebob on it, and she topped it off with some chili flakes."
Gus let that set in a moment, continuing to follow whatever directions Lucy had for him.
"First thing that happens when I leave the store? This woman parked next to me is locked out of her car, and her kid is screaming his head off. Turns out he's a big Spongebob fan, so hey, I come to the rescue," he still felt pretty warm and fuzzy about that, "Next up? I get a call from Justice out of the blue about how she's out of chili powder for some stew she's making, and guess who had some laying around?"
He shook his head, "Crazy, right?" Gus raised his eyebrows, "So I'm pretty much waiting for a salt-related crisis."
