The face he pulled just then made her chuckle. Alright. It seemed things on that front were okay then. Didn't mean she'd stop worrying entirely, but she'd trust Gus to take care of himself unless he started talking or acting some way that proved otherwise. On duty he had people to watch his back. It felt right that he should have that in his off duty life too.
"Ok. I just had to check." That he trusted her to be one of the people to let him know when he wasn't acting too bright warmed her heart. She really had been too hard on him. But she'd been so afraid he'd see the flaws that scared away the other people in her life. She hadn't exactly been acting her best these last couple weeks.
"Anytime. So, just how often did you want me to let you know?" She was teasing. Gus wasn't an idiot. Maybe a little over-protective in all the wrong ways, but not an idiot.
