Lucy was at a loss for the right thing to say. "I may have heard something to that affect," she very neutrally stated. She tried not to engage in too much gossip, but the diner was a hub for it. What threw her was the fact that she'd helped Justice to pick up her car from his place not too long ago, which left her wondering just what he was doing with an art teacher. She might not have believed in steady relationships, but she was pretty sure Gus was the type of guy who did. None of her business, she reminded herself.
"You don't need to hit the gym to impress anyone," she said because she wasn't sure who that 'anyone' was these days and wasn't trying to pursue that angle. "You're fine just the way you are." She shook her head and realized what she was doing. Lou smiled when she looked back up at him. "Don't make me give you the 'friends should like you for yourself' speech."
