"Water under the bridge," Gus waved the whole thing off, eager to put it behind them, "Yeah? Well, if you need any extra tips, I know a thing or two about kicking someone's ass in."
He grinned and winked at her, grabbing his towel from where he'd draped it on the treadmill and wiping his face.
"So how're things with you?" he said, following up by teasing her, "No pneumonia, so that's a start."
He really had left it too long with Lou, and while it wasn't especially cases that had piled up, he didn't want to rat anyone out, either. Justice very clearly needed her privacy, and he didn't think coming out with his recent string of epiphany's was something to just drive right into. Gus supposed he could mention his date with the high school art teacher, but she'd probably heard that discussed into the ground. They were probably already married in the eyes of the town gossips. Well, hopefully it wasn't that bad, but winter tended to magnify gossip.
