He moved on, so she did too, but Lou didn't feel like he had to. If he wanted to vent then he could go right ahead. She'd keep his confidences. Lou had to remember not to put her feet up on the couch. She would have at her place, but she wasn't home and was wearing shoes. Shoes and couches were definitely a no in her mind. She did, however, turn her body to face him and watched reverently as he searched through the photos, carefully keeping her eyes on him and not on the pictures until he gave her permission. They were all pieces of his life. She was touched he'd even show her the one.
She leaned in closer to look, angling her head so that they could both see at the same time. "She's beautiful," Lou said and meant it. She could see the same feeling, the same pride of ownership and sense of freedom that she felt for her own car. She didn't clutter up the atmosphere by trying to talk too much. She knew this car was important and didn't know how much time he'd need.
