Being the leader of the demons in Babylon, Bastian was very aware of who the author of the gossip column was and who he picked on. He also knew that Blake didn't publish anything he hadn't heard directly from the source. So when he was sitting in the corner booth at The Cellar and saw Bo come storming inside and order a drink, he knew he'd just seen the paper. And maybe his mother had, too.
He slid out of the booth and picked up his scotch, walking over to the bar where the youth was ordering a Boilermaker. The bartender looked skeptical, and about to say no to the kid who was only a year out of high school, but Bastian stepped up and spoke, "The drink is for me."
Since he'd been in there for an hour or so and already ordered two drinks, the bartender didn't need to ask for identification from Bastian. She just made the drink and set it in front of him. He picked it up before Bo had a chance to touch it and then gestured with his head toward the booth in the corner.
"Care to join me, son?" It was his opportunity to get the drink he seemed to so desperately want.
