She watched Gus grab for the ticket a little too quickly, as if she might reach for it and pay even though he'd said he would. It made her smile. "Thanks for lunch, Gus. It was nice catching up. We don't see each other often enough, you know. Especially in the winter. But yes, I'll definitely catch you early in the morning for jogging."
She smiled and saw him check his watch, "Hey, I have to get back to the office. I want to make an appointment with Fane and I have a little more studying to do before class tonight. But I'll see you Wednesday, right?"
She got out of the booth and touched his hand. "Thanks again, have a good rest of the day." She flashed him a smile and then with a nod to their waitress, stepped out of the diner and over to her little Jeep. She was out of the parking lot and waving when he left the diner himself.
