"Might not have been a patron, then. We may need to question Isabel Fane some more. See what she knows. If she was that angry, I feel like she has to know something." She lowered her eyes back to the report and then shut it. She didn't need to look at the gruesome photos anymore.
"You know as well as I do that when someone goes missing, there isn't always a report filed. Especially if they're alone in this town. We've seen a lot of people move in here the last few years, not all of them with families." She tapped the file. "This for me or do you need it back?"
Their food arrived and she picked up a fry, dipping it in the ketchup provided on the table. "I don't like it either," she glanced up at him, then bit the end off the fry. "Babylon isn't as quiet as it used to be."
Grace was pretty sure that this attack was on the demon populace. The circle of salt told her that much, the body burned to ash was another clue. But how did you solve a case when it wasn't as simple as all that? At least, not to the humans. But more importantly, why was someone fighting on the side of the angels leaving their evidence out in the open? And how was she supposed to incriminate one of her own?
