He didn't go into details and she didn't pry. She liked gossip, but only when it was willingly given away. Grace sighed, "I should live vicariously through you. I didn't do anything but study for a midterm that's coming up in a couple of weeks. Made these stupid flash cards." She gave him a lopsided smile and shrugged. Her studies were important to her, but they also kept her from having as much fun as she ought while she was young.
She reached for the file and drew it in front of her. She was mindful of other people in the diner and kept the photos out of their line of sight. "I heard about this, but as much as it's out of your jurisdiction, it's way out of mine." There was one pile of ash and two dead bodies with gunshot wounds. "One of the bodies burned completely to ash?" She questioned, without looking up from the report and accompanying photos.
She shook her head, not only because she recognized the salt as part of a ritual to trap demons, but because someone had been blatant enough to leave it all there for the cops to find. "Someone's sending a message, it looks like, considering it doesn't look like they even attempted to hide what they did."
She bit the inside of her lower lip and glanced up at Gus. She knew it chaffed when things ended up in the hands of the State Police, but when it was a murder their hands were tied. "Yeah, I'll help." She wasn't excited to go hang out at the Experience, but there were sacrifices to be made for her job.
