Lucy was quiet a minute, just thinking about what Justice was telling her. Was that really so much to take on blind faith? It was taken as a given that large corporations bred corruption. And ones like the casino? It could only be that much more so. What Lucy didn't follow was how that put Justice in a position to fight it. Gus, maybe. But even he didn't seem to have the full range of resources necessary.
Lou nodded slowly, incrementally, as if she were testing out the idea of going along with this. "I believe you," she started with that since it held the most truth. "And I can go without details - mostly." That one was a little harder, but in the end she believed what she was saying with a few caveats. "But I need to know what I can do to keep safe and I want you to know that if things get worse, I'm coming to you for details." Lou had wanted to say that she wanted Justice to promise she'd give her the details if she thought they were necessary, but she'd re-evaluated. Lucy doubted she could force the other woman to promise her anything.
It wasn't enough. Her voice hardened with determination. "And I want to know what I can do to help." There. That's what she needed to know. Hell, she didn't care of Justice said she could help by providing the Cellar with free cookies and cakes. If there was a threat to her town, then by the Goddess, Lou wanted to do something about it. Justice needed to understand that with or without the benefit of her insight and knowledge, Lou couldn't just sit by entirely.
