"Don't mention it," came Justice's response, more automatic than part of her wanted to acknowledge, but there was also feeling in it. She was glad she was able to keep Lucy's night from going down a much more unpleasant road, even if it did gnarl up her plans for the evening. In the end, it probably saved her a lot of pain.
Once they were in the truck, the wire that'd wrapped around her spinal column relaxed a little, especially when the thing started up. When they were actually on the road, she started to feel better.
"Listen, Lou... I don't wanna come off as somebody who tells people what to do..." She really didn't like giving advice, and this situation made what she was thinking sound exactly like advice. Telling people to stay put or not fuck with a poured salt line in the heat of something hairy, she could do. She did it in the service plenty of time, all demons aside... but things were still in a gray area that was really hard to navigate. She'd been having the same trouble with Gus lately.
