The end goal of the truck in sight and the promise of a ride home did wonders for Lou's frayed nerves. She gave Justice her first bright and genuine smile of the night. "Thanks, Coop. For everything. I really mean it." For saving her sorry ass and for not making her grovel for it as well as the ride home.
Lou finally let go of Justice when they got to the vehicle but not a moment before. Any other day, she would have politely waited, but as soon as the car was unlocked, she was hopping in and locking her door again. Lucy was going to spend a lot of time in her future securing locks, she decided. It made her feel safer to think she might be able to keep the bad things out.
