They were a good block and a half down the empty street from the hanger that housed the dance club before Lucy decided to break the silence. Justice wasn't quiet for any reason other than the fact that she was keeping her senses turned to the area around them, listening for footsteps that might be following them, or waiting for them somewhere in the dark.
There was nothing; not that she was surprised. If anything, Mr. Black back there would've been tracking her, and that obviously wasn't happening while she was in the company of some precious human to corrupt and add to the ranks.
Maybe that was one of the reasons why Justice kept her arm linked with Lucy's, but she didn't feel like that. That was her a few years ago, maybe, but being in Babylon, in a place where she was actually making connections with the people she protected, was changing things. She wasn't sure if it was for the better or not, either.
"What?" she responded with genuine confusion once the girl's statement sank in. "What are you sorry for? Asshole needed a round through his kneecap, but you gave him somethin' to remember. You did good."
