He was watching the backside of the retreating waitress when Marion spoke again. He reluctantly dragged his eyes back to the angel across from him. She was really the last person he expected to have as his dinner companion, but she wasn't bad to look at. It could have been worse.
"Mmm, perhaps not, but you know how these small towns talk. Being seen with the big bad Casino owner certainly isn't going to win you any points with the people who hate me." He grinned. Clearly he didn't mind being hated. No, he rather enjoyed it and even relished it.
