She thought her heart was going to be ripped from her chest and dragged along the dirty ship bottom, the way this woman stared at her. She had made sure not to approach anyone of importance on the ship, hoping to hop off board as soon as they docked. Her fear of death via drunken ship wreck made her decided confrontation was necessary. Had she known Kitty was more intimidating than her nickname led on...
"Aye," Lenny said, trying to fit into a stereotype that wasn't in her genetic make-up at all. Her family was fully of farmers and army men! She wasn't made for water! Piracy was her greatest mistake ever. "I think the captain's had her fair share of rum, and it's right time to stop."
Nervously, she tugged at the longer pieces of her bangs, sure not to disturb her hat. Lenny hated having red hair; it was impossibly curly and constantly in tangles. Still, she liked having bangs to cover what she considered to be an unnaturally large forehead. She also came to find that most redheads were shapeless; it made pulling off the boy look that much easier, but shredded her pride into the smallest of bits.
"It's just..." she continued, avoiding Kitty's hard stare and suspicions. "I think the crew would be safer if she stopped."
