Final weekend before the start of the Hogwarts term

New members voted in unanimously: Remus Lupin, James Potter, Sirius Black, Lily Evans, Frank Longbottom, Alice Travers

First: Minerva McGonagall revealed to the group (to much shock and dismay) that Albus Dumbledore was cursed two weeks prior. He is being monitored in a high security room at St. Mungo's under Auror guard, need to know basis. No source or cure has been found yet, but it was deemed a national security risk due to the belief it was connected to either his role with the Wizengamot or Hogwarts. Minerva believes it is neither of these things, but rather related to his investigation of Voldemort's activities.

Second: Alastor Moody called upon Frank Longbottom to offer his perspective of a series of cases that have passed through the DMLE over the last year, all initially assigned to the new Auror. The latest involved a young muggleborn woman who unexpectedly wrote to her family to tell them she was traveling overseas. She did not notify her workplace. Both family and co-workers were concerned by the sudden departure, but there is no sign of foul play and no grounds for further investigation. Frank expressed his frustration of having to close the case due to both a gut feeling and its similarity to other reports. All missing persons have been Muggleborn or other "undesirable" designations (werewolf, Squib, etc.).

Third: Elphias Doge described what he has learned so far about the rumoured werewolf attacks that came to the group's attention just before Dumbledore's curse. He has not had much luck gathering beyond the rumours and supposition, and he extended invitation to Remus to gain some insight on the groups that may be involved. Elphias broached the possibility of sending Remus undercover with one of these packs, to much disagreement. The meeting concluded without clear decision on the matter.
