Okay, since Cassie’s been on at me to do an Orientation thing for the newbies… here goes. Not that you lot need it, since you treat the place like home any way.
HQ:
Based at The Old Firm. Ostensibly we deal in ‘pest control and information’ out of the offices on the ground floor – they’re semi-derelict, and feel like an abandoned film set from a cheap noir; secretary’s desk out front, my office behind the glass door (ceiling fan, type writer, yada yada – what? I happen to like crap detective novels. So there).
Upstairs – First Floor because we’re British, dammit. Or at least I am.
If downstairs is a noir film-set, this is a b-movie hotel wing; the kind of cheap and tacky hotel serial killers wander around, down to the lurid patterned carpets, wall sconces and damp stains which look like Jesus, Abe Lincoln or Spiderman dependent on which way you squint at them. The individual rooms even have little gold numbers, though it goes 3, 5, 7, 11, 13 (sequential numbers are boring, right?).
3 - The kitchen
5 - Anna’s room – yellow key fob / red demon keyring
7 - Aaron’s room – purple key fob / vampire keyring
11 – Bathroom
13 – Upstairs office / study / library - bright red key fob / vampire keyring
If I’m ever mad enough to lend any of you my keys… shoot me, because I’ll finally have run out of marbles, and then refer to ^
Downstairs / Basement – The
... well, network of sub-basements really. Learn the layout as quickly as you can, because it’s bloody huge and if you get lost you’ll probably starve before we find you ^_^
Loads of random rooms down there, but the important ones:
Weapons lab - for the cool toys
Tech lab - less cool toys, things shiny, and most importantly a coffee machine.
Also doubles as the C.T
Plotting room – For the plotting of our nefarious plots.
This one’s easy to recognise because the walls are plastered with maps and
