Alex chuckled and shook her head. No, it wouldn’t be easy for him to stay off that leg but hopefully he would rest it whenever the chance came. She would also try to keep an eye on him as well as give Declan a heads up, if either saw or sensed Conor’s leg was giving fits they would try to run interference and get him seated for some reason. It wouldn’t be easy, Conor knew how to mask his pain, but maybe between the two of them they could do their best to get him to sit every once in awhile.
Taking his offered hand, she linked their fingers together before they walked out of their room. The good ol’ Doc was waiting for them, or rather for Conor, and she gave an apologetic smile. “He’s good,” she murmured in echo to Conor, reassuring the Doc it was all under control. Hopefully he wouldn’t be upset that she had attended to Conor’s wounds instead of fetching him and letting him do it.
Following along with Conor, squeezing his hand back when he squeezed hers, she smiled and spoke to those that had decided not to go into the bar just yet. There were pleasantries exchanged, congratulations to the both of them, Conor for beating Packard and her for being voted into the pack.
Though it was quiet in the clubhouse it was made up for with the noise coming from the bar. She smiled and glanced over at Conor; seeing his smile made hers even broader as they moved into the glob of wolves that waited for them.
Alex had barely made it through the door when all of a sudden she was swooped up by Declan, who then proceeded to give her a bit of a bear hug and swing her around as others hoot and hollered.
“Let me down you big brute!” She laughed as he carried her a little more ways into the room, her small hands beating playfully on his chest. Declan wasn’t the most outgoing of types, but he was a jokester and could be playful when he felt like it. Obviously, celebrations made him joyful.
When he put her down, it was to be beside Conor again and she looked at her mate and shook her head but couldn’t help the laugh that followed. This was her home, these were her people.
From there, everything moved in a blur. Sometimes she and Conor were together and other times they were pulled apart to go in different directions as wolves wanted to speak with them. Some were happy, some were unsure, and others were maybe upset but didn’t speak it at the moment.
