"I'm glad you still have him," was her response. She didn't know how she would feel if Nico had gotten rid of his raven. It would have felt as if he had left all of the old him behind if he had done it. Fortunately it wasn't something that she had to really think about. She was just happy he had kept part of his past with him.
And He can still use some of his powers, that's good to know at leastshe thought to herself. She shook her head, "You shut me out?" She asked miserably. Hurt stabbed at her heart and she barely heard his reasoning for it. "You shouldn't have worried so much about me, and worried more about why I was looking for you. Did... never mind it doesn't matter now."
"It's fine," she responded, "He died not long after you left. I've had a lot of years to come to terms with it. Seven years in fact. I've been looking for you since then." She sighed Pushing her feelings aside. It wasn't the time or the place to let anything out. She was already feeling bad for yelling at him earlier.
"Good plan," she nodded when he pulled her to her feet. She signaled to Bartok and he circled her once before heading back toward town. She pulled Nico along after the bird. "You can stay with me at my shop. I have a spare room in the apartment above it you can use. It's not that far from here." She liked the cooler air of the night, but the woods wasn't the best place to continue their discussion.
