You, again? Who: Anais and Jared When: Monday late evening Where: Local park Summary: Round 2 Warnings: Slight Violence, graphic language Status: Complete
When Anais woke that morning and heard the news she didn't know what to believe. Sure, she didn't know Damon all that well, in fact she had only even spoken to him just the one time but it still it was hard for her to believe it. He seemed like such a nice man, a good man, he didn't seem like someone who would do something like this. It had to be a mistake, there was just no way. Of course she couldn't share any of these thoughts with anyone at work as all they could talk about was how horrible it was and how he should be punished. None of them even knew Damon and yet they all believed immediately that he was guilty and that he should be executed for it.
The talk made her nervous, especially as it gained momentum and seemed to spread out from the kitchen into the whole restaurant. Werewolves and Damon and that poor girl was all that anyone would speak of and more and more the talks ended with werewolves needing to be rounded up and either tagged or just executed. Honestly more people were in favor of just killing them all and being done with it, not the least bit concerned about the fact that weres were people too, not just the beings they turned into. Anais didn't want to seem suspicious but she most just nodded or shrugged to what people said, placating them so they didn't think she was either a supporter or one of them. It disgusted her, but it was what she felt she had to do to protect herself.
As the day pressed on, all she wanted to do was go home, but instead was forced to pull a double shift staying there all night until Mi Corazon was closed. Once again there she was out after dark and this time she was less safe than ever. As the day continued the news updates became worse and worse only spelling out more trouble for anyone out supernatural or not. As she left the restaurant and began her normal walk home, a light rain began to fall causing her to pick up her pace, not wanting to be soaked once more. As she turned down a busier street, she saw a group of people with signs hollering things and quickly took a detour. Even with avoiding them, her ears still picked up noises of other groups of people talking of weres, putting a real feeling of fear in her heart.
Not able to get home, Anais decided the next best place of safety would be someplace far from people. Given how late it was, she didn't expect anyone to be hanging out around a park, at least not anyone with a home to go to. As she walked into a more wooded section and heard the sounds of other people starting to die down she realized she had chosen correctly. She figured she'd wait them out, they couldn't possibly stay there all night and after a few hours she would head back that way and hopefully be able to reach her home safely. Picking herself out a patch of mostly dry grass beneath the thick branches of a mulberry tree, she leaned against the trunk and just stared up at what was left of the full moon, missing it already.
