Given the miracle that JJ was, Sam jumped at the chance to get him checked out when she found out there was a doctor in town. Really, she shouldn't have even had JJ with her history. From having a still born in her early 20s to being shot in the back in her early 30s and being told she couldn't have any more children to trying an surgery that only increased her chances by 5% and how he came into this world, JJ was truly a miracle. She was actually surprised he was a healthy as he was considering everything. He was absolutely perfect. She could be seeing things through rose colored glasses and the aire of being a new mother and that was why she wanted him to get checked out. Meredith insisted on her getting checked out as well and Sam didn't argue. It was probably a good idea. Better safe than sorry.
JJ was a really good baby, which made Sam a happy mother. He was calm, cool, and collected much like his father. That 'like father like son' saying was so true in this case. She saw so much of Jason in the baby and he was only a few days old. It made her feeling so many mixed emotions. Happy because he hardly fussed, and sad because of where she and Jason were before she was transported to this place. She had moved out and was living at her mother's after their big fight about whether or not he could accept his baby if it was his twin brother's. She vowed to love this baby no matter what but he didn't think that he could. It was enough to cause a big rift between them and the fact that he wasn't around so they could fix it was depressing. She would give anything to be able to go back to Port Charles and get her husband back. Anything.
She was standing by a window that over looked the harbor outside and rocking JJ, lost in her thoughts when Meredith got there. She didn't hear the first knock on the door but the second one brought be back to reality as she looked towards the door. "I think the doctor is here, baby boy. Don't worry, I know you'll pass this check up. You're my big strong boy" She leaned down and gave him a kiss on the forehead then she tucked him into one arm and walked over to the door. "Come on" She told the doctor with a soft smile as she stepped back to let her in
