Meredith pocketed the stethoscope and pulled out her pen light, using it to track Judith's vision and make sure there were no neurological problems, of which she was finding none. "Babies at one month tend to lose a little bit of weight," she explained. "It's completely normal, it's just something a lot of parents are a little unnerved by, but it's just a matter of her body fluids and chemistry changing."

And she could visit Zola at daycare and play with her and be mom but there was always going to be a part of her that felt a little guilty.
