"That is an interesting question. I suppose the single most peculiar event in my life that would not also qualify as a nightmare unto itself would be how I found this place. I was at the hunting shed where I had fled to to begin my exile, at the spring nearby, when I heard the strangest sound, coming from the strangest creature," Delilah said.
She was too thin, bordering on skeletal, and what could be seen of her face under the deep hood, her skin was sallow and unhealthy, with dark bruises of exhaustion around her eyes. Her voice was soft, but with a bit of refined modulation to her accent suggesting education.
"It said 'pika', just like that. It was yellow and brown, with an oddly-formed tail and spots on its face. I followed it, and it disappeared into a large hollow in a tree, and here I am."
