Zelgadis shrugged. "I get bored when there's no challenge. And bandits are a bit like roaches -- you kill one band, and two more pop up. If you want to get rid of them, you have to actually deal with the economic situation, which means being on the inside of a political system or merchant's guild."
Or you could just be Lina Inverse and be very, very good at bandit-hunting. Still, the problem tended to come back once Lina had left -- Zelgadis suspected this was one major perk to being called to the Outer World, and the occasional break from bandit-hunting while people were trying to kill her.
