"Well, of course you do," I started to say. "You're..." I trailed off, eyeing that grin.
Well, it was the Nexus. Expect the unexpected, that was advice someone gave me soon after I got here, and it seemed to be a good idea to listen to it.
"So you're not alive?" I looked around. "Other people don't have any problem seeing you though. I'm going to guess here that maybe you're not a ghost."
I wasn't sure what to make of him anymore. If ghosts and bodachs could exist in Pico Mundo, then maybe other things could exist elsewhere. Still, he didn't exactly look like a zombie, or Bela Lugosi, but reading up on fictional monsters wasn't a big preoccupation of my spare time. I had enough real ones to worry about every now and then.
