She smiled softly. "It's my secondary mutation. Even the most taciturn of individuals open up." She reached up and ran her fingers lightly through his hair. "Seriously, though, I'm not surprised you're worried. I think everyone is kind of expecting another attack of some kind. It kind of goes with the whole shaken security thing."
She closed her eyes. If he was going to open up it was pretty much the signal that she could too. Even with Logan it was sometimes hard for her to want to start the unburdening process for fear of thrusting her issues on him. Maybe she'd been wild and independent for too long, but she also knew that he was having to deal with stuff on a larger scale than she was. He had a whole school to contend with, his whole family. She had her flat and him. There was a bit of a disparity there, and she didn't want to burden him needlessly if he'd come by to relax away from all of that stress for a while.
"Somedays it's really tempting to go crash at the school. It feels safer, being that there's so many people there. But if I did that, it'd feel like they still won even though we got away."
