Logan made comforting sounds as he held her. No matter how much practice he'd had by now he was always a little freaked out when women started crying, and seeing Matty break down was something he'd never expected to witness. She was so strong, so solid like him, but he didn't think any less of her for it.
He kissed the top of her head. He'd figured she hadn't known, she wouldn't have put herself in danger the way she had for Laura, but he'd needed to ask, needed to hear the words from her. He hung onto her and let her get the pain out.
"It wasn't yer fault, baby. Ya didn't do a damn thing wrong." He touched her chin, lifted her face towards his so he could look at her. "I ain't mad at ya, just ... shocked as hell. We hadn't talked about kids or anything ..." Hell, they'd only just said 'I love you' for the first time two nights before the abduction. They were both still settling in from that.
He kissed her forehead, still cradling her jaw. "Sorry ya went through that alone, Matty. I gave ya space 'cause I thought ya needed it."
