Matty watched her with a raised eyebrow and a barely contained smile. Now she knew why Logan liked keeping her around. She was definitely entertaining. Shaking her head, she took a seat next to Gaia.
She snagged the pack, tugging out a cigarette and sticking it between her lips. Once she had it lit, she took a long drag from it before answering, "Yeah. I think he's chasin' rabbits or somethin'. Hell, could be nekkid women for all I know." She shrugged. "He catches 'em half the time, and I wake up with him draped halfway on top of me. And it's not always fun. The man weighs a ton."
She shook her head, tipping some ash into the ashtray. "He doesn't have the nightmares as much anymore." That she was happy for. The first few nights she'd seen him after one of them, he'd looked so... lost and haunted, as if he couldn't quite discern between the waking and the dream. The sight of him like that had broken her heart, and was the first indication that yeah, maybe she did love him.
