"Damn, you kids have some pretty awesome powers," Remy said to the little girl, winking at her before he ushered the strays he was walking with along so that they were all a closer unit.
The little boy beside John tipped his head up and then curled his fingers in one of the belt loops of John's jeans. It was clear from his expression that he wanted to help.
"We gotta be nearly outta here," Remy offered to John, who he could see was struggling now. Amiably, but he was still struggling. Remy would have to tell a higher-up or something, see if the kid could get some kind of praise for it. He sure as hell deserved it, what with carrying his friend and all. "Den you can jus' sit down an' stop movin' for a while."
