Narrative

Adalene sat at her desk, just outside of the Senator's office. At the moment things seemed to be normal and, as Veronica, she sat there going through the paperwork that was piling on her desk. Working two jobs while trying to retain three people in her mind was starting to take it's toll. She was starting to lose some of her control over herself and waking up different people. Adalene could never tell when something would change in her. Sometimes an innocent sneeze would cause her hair color to change.

She shook her head and forced herself to focus on the work on her desk. The main door opening interrupted her thoughts and she looked up to see who it could be. A man she had never seen before walked in casually and nodded at her. Adalene did her best to be polite and smiled at the man. "Would you like me to see if--" she started to say in Veronic'as thick french accent only to be cut off with a raised hand and shake of the head. Not much of a talker this one is he? she though watching him walk into the Senator's office.

Confused she stood up and walked closer to the door in hopes of hearing something. She couldn't pick up much but she managed to hear words such as 'loading', 'collar' and 'mutant'. The last word caught her attention and she forced herself to sit back down at her desk; just in time to see the two men walk out of the office.

When she was alone again Adalene finished up her work as quickly as she could to make it out of the office to hopefully run back to her other job as Sophia Milon to hopefully find more information.

narrative; Danger Room, late night

Ethan had spent the first two nights after the kidnapping drinking himself into a stupor. In fact, one of those nights he'd spent with Tony, while the billionaire was trying to hack into some airport's computer system (Ethan couldn't remember; he'd been blitzed at the time). He hadn't shaved since Friday, when the kids had gone missing, and now sported a decent growth of beard.

Shattering The Peace

Narrative

04:00 am

You've been sat in the back of a military issued helicopter, black ops, since boarding at gone midnight reading the mission brief and committing the facts to mind. This mission is about secrecy, getting in and getting out before anybody is aware of your presence. They've already expressed the importance of this. Like you need to be reminded, you've done this sort of thing more times than you care to count. You're not an amateur, but clearly your superior officers don't feel the same.

08:00 am

The helicopter hovers mere inches above the building you're scheduled to settle in for the next two hours, until your target has taken to the podium. It's as easy as strapping into a harness and taking the plunge as you leave the safety of the helicopter and commit your body to the air. It's easy, you've done it a hundred times. You know exactly when to twist and do so in order to land easily and gracefully, soled feet tilted upwards until your weight is balanced perfectly. You waste no time, stripping away the harness and lifting yourself to a full standing position. One hand signal from yourself and the helicopter is gone, leaving you to merely cross the distance to where the bag is hidden. You have no idea what's inside, but you'll be able to figure out its use quickly and efficiently, it's what you do best

Events between 08:00-10:00 )

Current Mood: working

Who: Adalene and Scot
What: meeting for the first time/talk of what's happened
When: late night
Rating: PG 13 for cussing probably

Adalene went back to her office at the force after finishing her work for the Senator. Or rather she went back to Sophia's office. Ignoring the confused stares as to her random sudden appearance at the office, she quickly went to her desk and started reviewing over some of her old cases. Though they still had links she couldn't find anything that would relate to the words she had overheard. Frustrated she threw all of her cases back in their boxes and left the office in the same determined way she had arrived.

Far past midnight Adalene sat at her usual place at her favorite bar. She often had secret meetings there for her cases. Now, she wasn't sure what she expected to find. Instead she sat there nursing her beer, already losing count to how many she had, and tried to go through all of the facts in her head. Nothing seemed to add up. She felt she was missing a huge chapter to the story.
