Logan sobered somewhat. "Ya know I won't, 'Ro. Means a lot to me that ya think I can do the job well." It really and truly did mean a lot to him. He'd been afraid (he'd never admit it, though) that she'd gladly accept Scott's desire to be headmaster, not insomuch as Logan really wanted to be headmaster but because he'd been doing the job fine up to that point. His pride was wounded and he was a man of his word: he'd promised Ororo he'd take care of the place and the kids in her absence, grown to enjoy some aspects of it while his co-worker and friend recovered from the loss of family and home.
The grin came back. "Hell yeah, I plan on issuing an early-morning wakeup call they ain't likely to forget." He shook his head and couldn't help laughing. "Darlin', you and Matty both would have a hard time not laughing at that. I promise I won't preen too much."
