WHO: | Will Weisbrich and Jayne Thomas WHAT: | Jayne shows up at Will's work unexpectedly. Though really, shouldn't he have figured she would? WHERE: | Heritage dental office. WHEN: | Wednesday, February 20th, around 2:00pm Status/Rating: | incomplete; probably mild.
Doctor Morrison was working on one of his elderly patients who might have even been older than Morrison himself. Will was in the room doing an observation, biding his time until his own appointment cleaning a young patient's teeth at 2:30. Will was still getting used to the environment of the office; it was a whole process to orient himself to Heritage in the first place, and a new office as a secondary factor, but for the most part, he was doing an okay job. He was still young, after all, and Dr. Morrison occasionally appeared as though he was just waiting for Will to make a mistake so he could correct him (lovingly; the old man was practically a saint).
The receptionist had been pacing outside the door to the exam room, debating whether or not he wanted to interrupt. Will was trying to focus on what the doctor was doing, but ultimately, the choice wasn't up to him.
"William, will you see what Johnny wants, please? He's wearing a hole in the floor."
He looked at the doctor, still getting used to the old man's ways and not caring much for the way he talked to him, or to the receptionist, whose name was actually Jonathan and did not care to be called "Johnny." Will nodded and stepped around Dr. Morrison to open the door a crack to see what Jonathan wanted.
"Will," he said, sounding just as distressed as he looked. "There's someone here to see you, and she won't go away." Jonathan's voice was hushed, and he didn't want the doctor to hear. Will quickly deduced that it was probably in his best interests to keep the news to himself. He also figured he knew who it was who was probably waiting for him in the lobby, and he hoped to god that she had a good reason for coming to see him while he was working.
Turning back to the doctor behind him, he said, "I'm needed out front for a few minutes, Doc," and then excused himself from the exam room to see what Jayne needed. Yes, of course it was Jayne. No one else really knew him well enough in this town to ask for him personally by name at the office.
