After working my way through the Hannibal cast, I figured I'd move on to my second TV show obsession favourite. Anyhow.
This is Shannon Jensen, manager at The Starlight. He's 39, married with two kids (who can usually be found running around the motel) and he is very youthful at heart. His big problem right now is that his wife is in a coma since about a month back, after suffering a stroke while at work. So he's currently in disarray and dealing with that - if someone needs plot a temporary job, he's hired someone to help him out with motel manager duties and cover for him on the days when the going gets extra tough. Normally he's a happy person whose kids are the most important things in his life, although he has a tendency to extend beyond his own limits. He suffered from aphasia in his twenties following a motorcycle accident, so he sometimes uses the wrong word when talking, without realising it (he appreciates it of you correct him). His handwriting looks more like a kid's than an adults due to lingering issues with the fine motor functions in his hands, that too caused by the accident (which also means he won't be painting Warhammer figures any time soon).
He lives in the manager's quarters at the hotel and has been in town since he was two years old, so there are plenty of opportunities for connections! Because of his wife's condition, he's at the hospital as often as he can manage, so there's a good chance one might run into him there. Hello, Heritage-ians,
Just wanted to offer an update from Mod-Land. We have finally finished completing the work associated with the Activity Check. We lost players Airy, Chele, and Shiri due to a lack of response to the check, and Tara and Sabrina each dropped several characters. We are in the process of updating all of the pages, still. Please be patient while we get our housekeeping done.
Adds should be done tonight, along with a shiny new Friend-All Button to be run. The mods are still reading over the suggestions you offered in the Activity Check post. Again, thank you for your participation. It means a lot to us that you're still alive and kicking, even after nearly 4 years that Heritage has been open!

Ryan is going to do a quick intro, because she has to read more homework stuff before going to the movies tonight!
This is Natasha Hemingway, head librarian with a big heart and a vivid imagination. Born in Parsons, she's divorced with a kid who doesn't want to hang out with her and Nat feels like she's epically failing at being a mother. She also has a father (her mother died in the crossfire at a gas station hold-up when she was four) who isn't quite right in the head nowadays, but in a manageable way - he just weirds her out sometimes by saying or doing strange things and she blames his age. She's been living in Heritage since age four and has been working at the library ever since she first started working, moving her way up to head librarian where she is very happy to be. She's undecided on her sexuality, which sometimes confuses her. She lives in Heritage Cove on the second floor, holds a story hour for kids at the library every Sunday at 1pm and turned 35 in August.

I suppose the most amusing thing about her is that she writes stories about the townsfolk. Little made-up histories sparked by the people she sees around town. If your character has been around for some time, she's probably incorporated their likeness into a story. She would never, ever let you read any of them, though.
Hit me up if anything strikes your fancy, otherwise I'll be sitting here reading about morphemes and lexicons and trying to avoid a brain hemorrhage.

Hey guys, I want to give you a little heads-up. I've started uni and am in the (hopefully) closing stages of getting my drivers license. As in, I'm getting back into the swing of studying things (which I haven't done for a few years) and I've got a month of intensive driving and theory practice ahead of me + my first exam in about the same amount of time. Also included in this is getting up way too early to go to school two towns over, so that's another adjustment.
I know the game is slow in general right now, but if I happen to fall off the map, the reasons stated above would be why. I really need my sleep right now and in combination with my weird timezone, chances are I won't be around as late as I used to.

Ryan's mind is ridiculously overflowing with character concepts right now, but this guy has actually been floating around for over a year before I decided to bring him here. This is Elijah DeSantos, a 22-year-old townie who has worked as a janitor at the hospital since he left college. He's mooching off his parents and he likes to manipulate people, including tricking tourists. He can be a pain in the ass if he wants to, but he can also be charming and polite - sometimes in earnest and sometimes in order to get a desired outcome. He's a smart kid who worked his butt off in school and he could go on to study to become a doctor, but for now he's settled on the carefree approach to life. He still lives in his parents' house in Lakewood because it's a comfortable solution and his parents' (really just his mother's) feeble attempts at correcting his behaviour are easily ignored.
People in town might remember the summer of 2006, when a fifteen-year-old Elijah spent most of his time in a wheelchair, pretending to be disabled.
He might be on the young side for a character of mine, but he has a very adult side to him. He feels ready to start a family if he finds the right person to do so with. He does not intend to be a bother for the rest of his life, he just hasn't decided when he's going to stop it. He knows he will at some point, though.
I don't have any preset lines for him at this point, so he needs it all! I know he acts like a little shit, but a friend or two would still be nice. :P Other than that, I'm sure he's pissed a bunch of people of, or has some people he enjoys pushing around or leading on, as well as people who have gained his respect one way or another. He also has three ex-girlfriends, if anyone fancies an ex. Anything you can think of, feel free to throw it at me. :)

Hi everyone,
I'm leaving today for a trip to the UK. I'll be gone for the next few weeks, and I don't anticipate having a lot of down time to be able to reply to tags I owe. I may be able to get a few last ones off while I'm at the airport waiting to board, but otherwise I have no earthly idea what my internet/availability situation will look like while I'm gone. I apologize to anyone I've left hanging.
So, I'm letting everyone know that my characters and I will be on hiatus from July 19-Aug 9. I may be able to check in from time to time, and tag sporadically, but not to the same degree I can normally. I'll be back in the States on August 5, but I don't have internet at my new apartment yet, and I'll be starting work as soon as I return, so I know things are bound to be hectic.

Hey guys! First off, I have one week of vacation now and one in two weeks time, so I'll be getting back to tags I owe. Work is ridiculously tiring right now, which is why I'm so slow with that.
Second: Something that's not so slow seems to be my imagination. I have about three muses clamouring for space in my head right now, but the one that's being most insistent at the moment is Javier Bardem. Therefore I pose the question - would any one be interested in/in need of a character with his face? I was playing around with making him the sheriff, but I'm open to any ideas. :) Husband, father, step-father, boyfriend, uncle, ex... Anything is on the table for now! He'd have to be aged 39-49, that is about the only limitation at this point. :P

I need some help, y'all.
I have two maybe muses in my head, but since both of them are very different than most of the other characters in the game, I'm interested in coming up with some storylines/ideas before I go through the process of creation, since I already have a couple of floundering characters I'm trying to place here in-game.
1) Does anyone have any interest in plotting/playing with Darcy, Janet, or Adam? Darcy's done next to nothing, and she's not getting a lot of journal comment when she posts entries. I do have a scene I've started with her, so we'll see how that goes, but I wondered if anyone had any other interest in her, or the other two?
2) Now, to my maybe-muses: they couldn't be more different -- one is an early twenties gay boy who is a college student. He'd probably be a townie, and possibly the only gay dude in town so that could be interesting. The other is an early-40s divorcee, mother of two, and she's a school bus driver. I think she will probably be a long-time Heritage resident, too.
Anyone need anything? Anyone interested in either of those maybes, or my currents? Please let me know!

Quick announcement: Jeremy had a facelift and is now portrayed by James Franco (I still love you, Seth bb). He also de-aged from 39 to 38, 'cause it felt weird to have James Franco turn 40 this year. Other than that, he's still the same guy! :)

Hello everyone.
I am new here and my name is Chele. You can reach me OOC on aim at yay yvette if you want to chat or talk storyline for Drew. Now to introduce Drew.
Drew is born and raised in Elk Grove, IL and just moved here to Heritage because he wanted a new start. He's going to be a bartender at Teddy's and live in Longfellow 14 with a bunch of other people I see :). I look forward to writing and getting to know all of you. I found this place because of Sabrina and I'm glad she pointed me in this direction. I'm not good with writing these things out as I'm good for writing things out and making organic storylines with everyone. Drew hates being called Andrew or even Andy, he refuses to answer to it. He has the tendency to be a bit of an ass at times. He no longer drinks for the accident he had caused and killed a man. He did his time and after that he just up and left and ended up here without no purpose as to just start over.

If you've paid attention, you might've noticed that Ryan snuck in a little RP a few days prior to the end of her hiatus, but this is me officially returning! Feeling better than I did a month ago and having taken time off most everything, I'm now willing to stick my head back in here and revive my kids. I'll keep this short, since I'll be back with an OOC post/plot announcement somewhat soon, if all goes as planned.
I know I left in the middle of stuff and with kinda short notice, so anything you want to finish/bring up again, let me know! Also tell me if you want to start new stuff! I might be slow starting up, but it's all self-preservation.
Apart from Will's latenight jigsaw adventures, there are Lucas, Gabriel, Sal, Quinn, Jasper, Jeremy (who may get a facelift) and Mark, all ready for activities.

Hey guys, I just wanted to pop in an apologize for sucking at RP lately. This would also be the reason I'm taking a hiatus for the month of June. There are a lot of stressors in my life at current (drivers license, preparing to live on my own, my dog being sick and also not playing well with others, work sucking) and it's all gotten me kind of down and as much as I'd want to, I don't have the energy to focus on playing here. I don't want to leave though, so I'm trying the hiatus approach. Of course, you know me, I'm always around, so if you need my kids for anything, just shoot some words my way.
Likewise, I know I am in a few threads right now. If you want to discuss any of that, I'm all ears. I tend to get bad conscience regarding RP and leaving people hanging and people always remind me that RL comes first, so this is me heeding those words. I'm really not feeling good, so I'll be dealing with that before I come back properly. I might be around, I might not, but the hiatus is sort of a safety net if I do end up staying away completely.
Of course, you're free to pester me on AIM. Otherwise I'd be lonely and that'd really drive me nuts. Sal, Quinn, Will, Lucas, Gabriel, Mark, Jasper and Jeremy will go about their daily lives, so anything they should be around for is probably okay.
Fingers crossed my new psychiatrist isn't a cannibal?

Oops. But seriously, I think I've reached a rest stop as far as new characters are concerned now. *fingers crossed*
This is Ryan introducing Will Redmayne. I feel like I ought to put a disclaimer here - yes, I know we already have a Will in-game and yes, I love NBC's Hannibal. However, Will actually isn't inspired by Will Graham, but rather by Hugh Dancy's stupid face. I would have gone with another name for this guy, but Will just fit perfectly for the character (and the face). You know how that is? I hope you can bear with it.
Will just turned 37 on May 4 and works as a groundskeeper at The Lodge, because he loves plants. He's lived in Heritage since the age of four, when he came into his aunt's and uncle's custody together with his older sister, who basically is his anchor in the world (though right now she lives and works in Switzerland). Their birth parents weren't really up for the job of raising kids, it turned out, but more on that in his history. The four years he spent with them made him a very nervous little boy and that nervosity is still deeply rooted within him today, taking its expression through a number of neuroses and a general skittishness. He's a good person, just very insecure and easily startled. He's kind of like a neurotic squirrel.
He lives in Heritage Cove and his apartment is an oasis of greenery where he can hide from the world if he needs to. However, he still has his room at his parents (aunt and uncle) house in Lakewood where he sometimes hides away if something's really wrong. Will is a perfectionist, for good and for bad, but he's really quite precious. Occasionally you might find him at the lakeshore with his feet in the water (regardless of the time of year) as that's one of the ways he calms himself down when he gets upset for one reason or another.
Read all about him over here! (And dude, check out the layout. It's fucking amazing. The picture spins. (No, I didn't make it, so I'm allowed to say it's awesome.)) Any and all plot is welcome. If you're into terrorizing characters, Will is a very grateful target (even if he's not grateful about being picked on). Of course, he can get equally distressed by positive and negative encounters, so bring it all on. Prior to working at The Lodge, which he's done for seven years now, he worked at the library and at the H-Mart, so there might be connections there as well as on his current job? And ladies, he's single..! You know, if you ever wanted to date a neurotic squirrel.
