blakemcgraw
Who: Blake and Clare Lightwood.
Where: Someone’s estate
When: Afternoon

Blake had spent the night in London drinking and having a good time with some fine choice ladies. The city and the night had treated him well and so well in fact that he rented a room for the night and a good chunk of the day. Waking up in a room you don’t remember paying for and next to women whose names you couldn’t remember was an agreeable way of doing things in Blake’s mind. What was even better was getting a hot breakfast and a few morning shags to wake him up. He had been anticipating a hangover but nothing of the such happened and it made him all the more happy.

Once he parted with his bed companions he got himself a coach and headed out to the countryside to go back to his new home. He was sure his brother was up by now and gone but there was still hope he’d be there and then the two could go gallivanting across the countryside romancing farm girls and young well to do women. His ride was long enough and boring enough to where he found himself falling back asleep. When Blake finally opened his eyes it was because he heard a great noise. This great noise was the coachmen arguing about a broken something.

Blake popped his head out the window and looked down at the coach and to the arguing men. He pulled his head back in and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. He took his hand and his cane and exited the coach. Blake paid the gentlemen and informed them that he’d walk back since it was not far. Truth was Blake had no idea how far his brother’s estate was but if he got lost there would be a search party, he was sure of it.

Wandering off and down the path he made sure the coach was out of sight before he took off and went through a patch of trees. A few hours went by and Blake finally gave up and admitted to himself that he was indeed very much so, lost. “God damn it,” Blake muttered to himself as he hit his cane against a tree and kept on his way. Once he found a path he wasn’t sure which way to go so he just turned left since he was left handed. Maybe he’d run into someone who could direct him in the right way.

brodiemcgraw
Who: Brodie and Charity
Where: a pond, on it, in it, around it.
When: afternoon

Brodie had just recently moved to Castledon with his wonderful brother Blake McGraw. The two were nearly inseparable but today they were apart for one reason, Blake had gone out to London and drank himself right silly and had to rent a room to recover in. Brodie contemplated going with his brother the other night but he really wanted to check out this new little slice of silent goodness. He spent the morning wandering about his estate before trotting off and discovering that not too far from where he lived was a pond. A wonderfully sized pond that had an adorable little stone bridge covering it.

For a good long while Brodie let himself sit on the thick railing of the stone bridge and ran his hands over the bits of moss and tangle with the Ivy that was growing around it. He liked the view from where he was but he very much so wanted to be in the middle of the water. The pond didn’t look like it got much attention very often so he didn’t want to chance a swim in it. He knew the pond (which he liked to call a lake, much more impressive) on his estate was good for swimming. He made sure that he had a home with water nearby. The McGraw brothers were certainly fans of not only being naked but being naked in water.

After a while Brodie rode back to his estate and instructed the servants to get his rowboat. He had his servants transport his rowboat to this little pond. Once it was set down into the water he dismissed them, tied his horse to a tree and set off in his boat. He rowed around for a while but didn’t want to venture too far from his horse. For all he knew there could be vagabonds in the nearby trees just waiting to take his precious steed! Wanting a bit of a break from all this movement Brodie let his boat to the middle of the pond and laid down to look up at the sky.

janellacklin
Who: Janell and OPEN
Where: Along a path
When: Noon

Janell could never stand to be in her house all by herself. She pestered the staff enough that they might be forced to quit simply because of her running mouth. Desperate for air and for fulfilling the fantasy of running into a stranger Janell set out on foot. She wandered off of her own estate and onto a path. She of course went off the path (as she usually does) and found herself entering onto a new one. She had no idea where she was (the way she likes it) but she knew vaguely how to get back if she could just turn around and back track.

The sun was out today and the threat of rain might come up on her soon but for now she wanted to enjoy the light and the cool air that was surrounding her. The trees were providing excellent shade and she loved watching the bits of light that poked through the shadows. She kept her head down for a while to watch the ground. She wanted to see bugs and leafs and to see the light as it hit the ground. Eventually her head went up to stare at the tops of the trees to see if there were any birds around. Once she had felt she was successful in looking both up and down she thought to walk backwards.

Walking backwards took a bit of talent for some people and Janell did not have such a talent. She kept wandering off in a squiggly line and going off the path or running into trees. After a while she just decided to sit by a sunny patch of flowers on a fallen tree just a few paces from the path. She let her hair down and started to braid it and pick flowers and braid them into her hair. Janell had little concern for social expectations. She liked having her hair up but felt that it was restricting her when she was outside. Outside she liked to have her long hair down and free so she could feel a breeze trace through it if there was one. Putting flowers in her hair was something she was fond of doing and while she did such she started to sing to herself. The woman didn’t have the voice of an angle but she didn’t have one that would make people go running in terror. In her own little world Janell sang to herself while picking out flowers and threading them into her hair.

WHO: The people of Castledon - all invited
WHERE Windpark Hall
WHEN Thursday 27th March, 6pm, until late
WHAT Lisa Etteridge's engagement party.

For all intents and purposes, Lisa was an annoying creature at best. Her smile was fake and forced, her manners seemed to cover a hint of dislike to every guest who wished her their congratulations and she only seemed interested in the presents which some family members had to give. Her poor, oblivious fiancée Derek Winter simply stared at her in adoration. He had snared himself a pretty blonde, though at what price?

Once they had greeted Miss Etteridge and thanked her for her hospitality, guests seemed to veer away and engage other, pleasanter folk in conversation so that she was left simply to her family and close friends for entertainment. The hall was grand, though smaller than that of Christopher Hartwell's, and the host, it seemed, was not as popular. Music came from the set of strings in the corner, mostly lost and forgotten for their services, and a small array of food and drink sat on tables against the North Wall, the farthest from the exit.

penelopea
Who Penelope Tiller and OPEN
What Chance encounter.
When Friday afternoon.
Where Middle of nowhere.

Penelope's mind had been spinning for days now, ever since she'd quite literally ran into the man who'd previously put a ring on her finger. As if she didn't think about him enough before, he occupied an even larger portion of her mind now. It was driving her batty, and she often sought refuge out from within the walls of her family's home. She'd taken to going for long walks in the afternoon after her mother retired for a nap, and today was no exception.

The sun warmed her face and a light breeze felt cool against her skin; it was a near perfect afternoon. She stopped occasionally to admire a patch of flowers or to watch the birds building their nests, but for the most part she walked aimlessly with no care as to her direction.

By the time her legs began to tire and she had brought her head back from the clouds, Penelope could no longer see her house. Gracious, how far had she gone? Her feet had seemed to move without thought or effort on her part. She knew where she was, but she couldn't quite remember getting there...

Where: The fields next to her cottage
What: TBC
Unfinished

Charity was appreciating a nice afternoon without having to constantly watch that her two children didn't get into trouble. Nurse Eltringham was minding the two of them as they took an afternoon nap. Charity swore she had paint in her fingernails: dear Margaret had just discovered the joys of art at the tender age of four, and had introduced her two year old brother William to it that morning. Charity had certainly had her hands full and though she loved her children completely, a brief walk in the sunshine was a welcome break.

DID YOU KNOW....? 2 [26 Mar 2008|02:37pm]

DID YOU KNOW.... that Rosalinn Lightwood is apparently besotted with a man three times her age? She will not admit to it but rumour has it that the man spurned her during a walk in his grounds.

DID YOU KNOW.... that Bennigan Rigsby is apparently in Castledon to marry into money? It is said that he perused at the ball and latched onto any unsuspecting woman whom he might be able to seduce into marrying him.

DID YOU KNOW.... Sophia Harwin is in hiding after her mother suspected her of romancing a married man? She has not been allowed from her room for three weeks now!

DID YOU KNOW.... Lord Eward, though his reputation preceeds him, has actually been leading on five women at a time! The ladies in question had all been hoping for a proposal, but he brought them together at his home where he bluntly told them he had no interest in wedding any of them. At the same time!

......anything else???

Who: Christopher and Sylvia Hartwell
Where: The Hartwell Estate
When: The day after the ball
What: Chris and Sylvia need to gossip!

Christopher put a hand to his head and gently rubbed the temples to try and induce more blood flow. He had heard it eased the pain of headaches, and after the amount he had drank at the ball he certainly needed some relief from the dull ache which was steadily rocking his senses. Apart from a few moments along the way most of the night was a blur. He sat in his favourite armchair in the salon of the manor, close to the window where he could watch the birds begin building their nests for the summer months. Studying nature was the best medicine on days like these.

_rosewood_
Who: Rosalinn and any of the Lightwood Sisters
When: mid afternoon on the 18th March
Where: The Lightwood Manor, the drawing room.
What?: TBC

Rosalinn brought one finger down on the ivory keys of the small piano and listened to the dull note that rang from it. Another finger, another note, and so it went until she began to construct a melody which she had been trying to produce for almost half an hour. Her struggle was not in vain - the harmony and tune that she continued to create was quite pleasant, though not a work of genius. Her small hands glided down the piano attempting to continue composing something along the lines of a light song which she might recite at one of the family's get-togethers. How she loved to entertain... but she would never admit it.

As her thoughts wandered so did her fingers and she hit a very obvious wrong note at the end of a chorus. Blasting her hands Rosalinn's composure became annoyed and quickly placed them on her lap as she attempted to regain her calm mood. She had worked so hard, her parents were being incredibly patient and she wanted to complete her little masterpiece by the end of the day.
