She laughed when Alex commented on her lip balm. "Impressive. You never could tell the difference before until we...erm. You know." Mona ducked her head, preventing herself from looking at Alex's own mouth as she remembered how it was when he kissed her. Remembering the very first time they kissed still sent butterflies in her stomach.
Walking in the cold air cooled her cheeks and she cringed when Alex said that he hated her at one point, but it was only a slight sting.
"I know. I felt the same way too. It wasn't easy, hating you and worrying about you at the same time," she told him.
What happened next only cemented Mona's suspicions of Alex possibly dealing from earlier. She had her hand in her jacket pocket, careful around her wand as the man swore at Alex. But, as soon as the man appeared, he was brushed off and she and Alex were walking onwards.
Mona kept her hand on her wand.
"S'okay," she said, her voice calm. She was quiet for several steps.
"So, what is the special these days? He looked like a loyal customer."
