He didn't seem to notice the flicker in her mood, and she was glad of that and slightly disappointed at the same time. Which was as ridiculous as her feelings - if she wanted him to know what she felt, she should tell him - but there it was.
Instead of doing anything of the sort, she simply settled into him, holding her ball of contradictions inside her and letting him warm her.
"It seems like Fred was the ideas man, but I think you do okay at that, too. You thought of all the museum stuff on your own. I just listened and offered suggestions."
She toyed with the glass in her hand, resting in her lap. "It's not just for your benefit that I'm glad you feel comfortable here, though. It's a bit selfish, too. You make me feel... more desired, and desirable, than I have in... a very long time."
