Ami wrapped his arm up around Aviel's neck, giving him and playful squeeze and almost hug. When his son first approached him about leaving, he'd been hurt, thinking him to be like his mother. But, when he thought about it and especially now, he could see he was wrong. He was his own man, a strong man and Ami had made many mistakes putting his mothers transgressions on Aviel's head. He would make up for it. He had to. He raised a hand to Marion and shook his head, "I understand why you didn't. Perhaps, if I had been as upset as Aviel thought I would be, it may have been bad. But as it stands, I was happy."
Ami turned to look up at Aviel, giving him a very stern and sincere look. His son was only a few inches taller, but the act of having too look up to him seemed right. He did look up to his son, in more ways than just literally. "I know why you needed to go. I do. And I'm happy and I am so sorry I ever made you think I wasn't proud of you. You are nothing like your mother, despite my fears, my actions that could have made you like her. And I am proud of you."
Aviel smiled at his father nodding his head. He felt the urge to cry out but held it in. Instead he just continued nodding, this was exactly what he'd yearned to hear. All his life he wanted to hear this, but now especially. "Thanks Da..." He smirked and gave a laugh, "Now, how about we actually go inside for that tea? You can put your gift to use." Aviel stepped between Marion and his father and gently guided them both up into the house.
