Following the clue, or The game is afoot...
Who: Tristan and Manannan (maybe they will meet someone?)
Where: Fallen City, to start
What: another clue, another brick in the wall
When: early Thursday morn
Status/Rating: In progress/tba
Morning had not quite arrived, darkness still blanketed Fallen City like a shroud, an air of expectation sitting upon it, awaiting the arrival of the sun god to enlighten them with his golden rays as he gave birth to a new day. Manannan had woken instinctively, all too aware of what was to be done, leaving his simple bed to gather together the few things they would need upon their journey. He and Tristan, more brother than friend, and closer than either title could convey.
Another clue. One among many. He'd long ago lost track of the number of clues which they had followed, all fruitless, all ending nowhere. And yet they persisted. For Tristan's sake. As long as Tristan burned with the desire for revenge which fueled him, then so would Manannan remain by his side.
They would not require much, for it was ever better to travel light, and they were both adept at living off of the land where they went. He passed by the door to Tristan's room, stuck his head through the doorway. He could hear his friend's even breathing, but he knew he was not asleep.
"Come, let's get under way," he said, "before the sun god rises, while it is still cool." He flexed his hands to rid them of any kinks accumulated during the night. He would carry his blade, of course, the Answerer, for he went nowhere without - one could never be too careful, after all. And the rest of the special items which were said to have been gifts from his father, the sea god Lir - his coat, his breastplace and his helmet - would be stowed and taken with them. They did not know exactly what they went to face, and it were better to be prepared than to be caught with their hands in their pants, so to speak.
